Newell’s Old Boys became the winners of “Final” Championship in Argentina. They did so in a bizarre fashion. They didn’t have to kick a football for that. The result of a match went in their favour and they won the Championship.
Lanus, a team which was challenging Newell’s for the Championship, was up against Estudiantes on Wednesday. Actually, that match was scheduled to take place 10 days ago and it had started 10 days ago as well. The first half went on peacefully, but, then, something unfortunate happened at the stadium. A supporter got killed in a police confrontation.
The Newell's Old Boys boss has said that he is extremely happy with the start made by his team in the Copa Libertadores group stages. The Argentine side were taking on the Paraguayan Olimpia the first group match of the Copa Libertadores.
